Often descriped as alof and withdrawn, Yvelont wasn't one for socializing even from a young age. He found satisfaction in physical activities, and pushing himself to his limit. He has a rather perfectionist idea for both himself, and to those around him. At times it can cause friction with those he loves, even if he comes from a place of good intentions. Because of the nature of war, Yvelont finds that he tends to hold people at arm's legnth, and struggles to connect to others around him, floundering a bit in conversation.

Born within house Durendaire, Yvelont is the middle child ( and second son ) of three siblings. He took pride in his family name, and most of all took pride in his martial skill. He begged his father to allow him to train with the lance, wanting to be like his dragoon cousin. At first his father refused, not wanting a son so entangled in the war, but relented under the passion his son showed. he hired a mentor to show his son the ways of the lance. A hyur named Theodgar Cater, who was incredibly strict with his training, but impressed by the early skill Yvelont possessed. Still, there was never enough learning, and Yvelont was sorely lacking.When Yvelont was 16 years old, he took up arms in the militia under his family name. He was quick to rise in the ranks, though whether through his talent, or family name is unknown. He was, however, eventually picked as a hopeful recruit for the Order of the Knight Dragoon at the age of 19 after saving a few fellow knights from a minor wyrm attack. He was trained along other fellow recruits, throwing himself into the training with intense focus. Yet despite his dedicated, he managed to befriend a fellow recruit by the name Stephannot Rillemont. The two became close friends during training.They were separated when, sometime after Yvelont's 20th nameday, he managed to surpass the many grueling challenges presented to recruits, and became a dragoon officially. A title that was worn with pride. For the next several years, during the Dragonsong War, Yvelont was incredibly devoted to his oath as a Knight Dragoon. So much so that his social life had taken hard hit. Even despite the attempts from Stephannot, who later became a dragoon himself, and a mutual 'friend' ( Emmett ). Actual war was different from the many stories that his cousin had told him. There was no dignity in the fighting, and dead. Yvelont started to close himself off emotionally from his friends, and family to spare himself the hurt if loosing people.After the many years of fighting for the Knight Dragoon, the Dragonsong War ended with the help of the warrior of light. Eventually, Yvelont was relieved of duty. With no need for the Order the Knight Dragoon to slay dragons, there was no need for them at all. Yvelont took this time to return to his family, having for little else to turn to. Though his relationship was strained in several places, they took him back with open arms, half expecting a man with great stories to tell of the war passed. Not the shell shock of a man who still saw the blood of fellow soldiers, and enemies alike.

Yvelont, the second of a second son, was raised within the confines of noble politics. While he finds no pleasure in it, he cannot ignore the duty to his family. A reluctant participant of The Game, Yvelont does the best that he can.

* Dragoon Knight

Knight sworn to his oath through the blood, sweat, and tears that he has shed, Yvelont is incredibly dedicated to the lance. The years during the Dragonsong War were ones that he does not think he will forget. For better, or worse.

* Adventure Anew

Tired of retirement, Yvelont decides ( both at the urging and advice of his siblings ) to take up his lance again as an adventurer. He has no current plans to fully leave cortheas, but has no thoughts against. For now, he will simply see where it goes.

Older Brother

A nobleman who charms anyone who crosses his path. Raised with the intentions to lead their household once their father stepped down, Ostrort took the the game with vigor, and delights in winning. Yvelont, and Ostrot get along well enough for siblings, but find themselves at odds on more than one occasion. Still, despite all the arguments, and disagreements, Yvelont still cherishes his older brother.

Younger Sister

The artist of the family. She had taken painting up in her youth, and excelled greatly in the specialized skill. as well as any art disciple she could get her hands on. Violette spends most days on her craft, and finds the socializing of the noble cast exhausting at times. Something Yvelont, and Violette agree on. Though she can be quite troublesome, and mischievous, Yvelont watches fondly over his younger sister.

Menac

An orphan originally from The Brume that joined the KNights Dragoon, Emmett very easily lets things slide off his back. One of the few people that was not intimidated by Yvelont's bluntness, he delights in egging to noble on, and laughing about it. Though Yvelont originally thought of him as a slacker with very little ambition, he came to respect the man as a brother-in-arms. Nowadays, he finds adventure outside of Ishgard as an adventurer.

Friend

The youngest of 4 brothers, Stephannot was from a farm originally, but was sent to live with his uncle after a dragon attacked too close to home. Not wanting to disappoint his parents, he trained diligently, eventually joining the Order of Dragoons. Yvelont, and Stephannot became friends gradually over the years. When the Dragonsong war ended, they kept in contact. Even when Stephannot eventually left Ishgard with Emmett.
