Born within house Durendaire to Lord Shiollort Durendaire and Lady Ufette Durendaire ( née Moniere ), Yvelont is the middle child ( and second son ) of three siblings. As he grew, he was regaled with stories of heroes, and soldiers. He took great interest in the stories about Dragoons. Especially the war stories that belonged to his mother during her old Dragoon years before he was born. He begged his father to allow him to train with the lance, wanting to be like his mother. At first his father refused, not wanting a son so entangled in the war, but relented under the passion Yvelont showed. At first, he was trained by Lady Ufette, but later a mentor was hired to finish his personal training. A hyur named Theodgar Cater, who was incredibly strict with his training, but impressed by the early skill Yvelont possessed. Still, there was never enough learning, and Yvelont was sorely lacking. When Yvelont was 16 years old, he took up arms in the militia under his family name. He was quick to rise in the ranks, though whether through his talent, or family name is unknown. He was, however, eventually picked as a hopeful recruit for the Order of the Knight Dragoon at the age of 19 after saving a few fellow knights from a minor wyvern attack. He was trained along with other fellow recruits, throwing himself into the training with intense focus. Yet despite his dedication, he managed to befriend a fellow recruit by the name Stephannot Rillemont. The two became close friends during training. They were separated when, sometime after Yvelont's 23th nameday as he managed to surpass the many grueling challenges presented to recruits, and became a dragoon officially. A title that was worn with pride. For the next few years, during the Dragonsong War, Yvelont was incredibly devoted to his oath as a Knight Dragoon. So much so that his social life had taken a hard hit. Even despite the attempts from Stephannot, who later became a dragoon himself, and a mutual 'friend' ( Emmett ).Yet despite this, at the age 25, he managed to make friends with a temple knight. Or rather a young and inspired Almoux Kuiveux became friends with Yvelont, and followed him in hopes of learning more from the dragoon. So started an unlikely friendship between an reluctant mentor, and mentee, though the two grew increasingly close as time went on. Within the year, Almoux was picked as a hopeful Dragoon recruit, and eventually passed the trials to do so. For the next five years, things would go rather well for Yvelont, and his friends. There was not much that the group could not overcome with some fortitude, and silly hijinks. But like most things, it had to come to an end at some point.During what should have been a routine patrol of the Coerthas Western Highlands, both Yvelont, and Almoux were ambushed by an older wyrm. With the two on the defensive and confused, only Yvelont made it out unscathed. Almoux, however, was not so lucky receiving deep wounds that he eventually passed from. Guilt ridden over the death Yvelont felt he should have prevented, he retreated into himself, barely reacting to the world around him, and it went on like that for the next two years. Yvelont threw himself into Dragoon work, quickly wearing himself thinner, and thinner. That was until a passing templar knight made a remark about Yvelont, and Almoux. What it was, he could not remember, but it was enough to send him into a flying rage. The events that passed he also could not tell you, but as he was dragged off the unconscious, and bloody body of the temple knight, he could make a guess. Yvelont was dismissed for the time being while an investigation was underway to reveal what transpired. Though the investigation didn’t have the time to go very far before the Durendaire family got involved. An agreement emerged that Yvelont would be given an honorable discharge for his service as a Dragoon Knight, and he would be removed swiftly from the barracks as to not cause anymore altercations. There is where Yvelont’s military career ended, and, as the Dragonsong War came to an end thanks to the Warrior of Light within the year, became a recluse. Barely speaking to anyone. But it wasn't until after urging from his younger sister that he needed to ‘get out there’ and heal from wounds did he start to finally leave the house.
